Hello, I’m Laura.

Welcome to the Palm Learning Network - a growing community of parents, children and independent professionals. I founded PLN in early 2022 with the intention to evolve alongside the emerging educational needs of families, both in Mauritius and overseas.

My background is in teaching and educational leadership and I was raised, educated and professionally trained in England. I now have nearly 20 years of experience in outstanding schools across multiple continents. These experiences have allowed me to gain valuable understanding of a range of education programmes and curricula, and they mean I have been fortunate enough to work with some incredible families and colleagues from around the world - many of whom have inspired me both professionally and personally.

We all know that learning never stops, and so I try to live with this in mind each day. The world around us is ever-changing and I do what I can to grow and evolve in order to remain at the forefront of my profession. I believe that all aspects of my work centre around authentic, caring and professional relationships, and the best education involves ‘learning to learn’ - whereby we develop the skills necessary to adapt and thrive in a world where there is constant development and change.

I look forward to meeting you and your children soon.

Let’s Connect!

  • Our growing network is designed to bring people with shared values together in the best interests of children and families. We believe that a strong community creates exciting learning opportunities and a valuable support network - whether this be between professionals and parents, a parent collective, or teams of children with shared interests. The opportunities are endless and we are excited to explore them.

  • We are here to help you understand how to best support your child’s learning needs. If we do not offer what you need at our own learning centre, we will do our best to connect you with those who may be able to offer the specific skills, guidance and support you need. We love meeting new families, and sometimes having the space to discuss and reflect can be very reassuring for parents.

  • We love getting to know like-minded professionals who put children and families at the centre of what they do. We recognise and value the skills of others, and we know that families thrive when there is a caring community of people who can support them.

The professionals in our network remain entirely independent and we do not benefit financially from any referrals we offer. This is because we deeply believe that a strong and happy community grows organically as a result of compassion and shared values.

If you place the needs of children and families at the heart of your work and you operate with professionalism, authenticity and care, we would love to learn more about you.
